Philosophy of the Constitution
The Department of Law at BV(DU) University - Institute of Management & Research (BVIMR), New Delhi held an online seminar titled Philosophy of the Constitution & Liberal Democratic Order: Emerging Challenges on March 26, 2025. This event was organized under the leadership of Dr. A. K. Srivastav, the In-charge Director, and was initiated by Dr. Neha Garg, the Head of the Law Department. The esteemed guest speakers included Prof. (Dr.) Amar Pal Singh, Vice Chancellor of Dr. Ram Manohar Lohiya National Law University in Lucknow, U.P., & Prof. (Dr.) Manoj Kumar Sinha, Vice Chancellor of Dharmashastra National Law University in Jabalpur, M.P., were invited. The welcome & an introductory address given by Dr. Neha Garg, Head of the Department of Law. She highlighted the significance of constitutional philosophy in todays evolving democratic frameworks & the importance of critical discourse on emerging legal challenges. Prof. (Dr.) Amar Pal Singh shed light on the foundational values enshrined in the Constitution & the continuing relevance of constitutional morality in the Indian context. Prof. (Dr.) Manoj Kumar Sinha elaborated on the challenges faced by liberal democracies in modern times. The session was engaging. Vote of thanks delivered by Mr. Gaurav Gupta. Dr. Neha Garg, Head of the Law Department & Mr. Gaurav Gupta coordinated the event successfully.
